SPIRULINA BUTTERMILK RECIPE

Hello everyone,

Today I will share the Buttermilk recipe but with a twist in it. Yes, because I have used powder of spirulina in Buttermilk. I have explained the benefits of Spirulina powder in my previous blogpost.

Buttermilk is one of the popular summer cooler made with yogurt. We all make it with some variations. As it is prepared with Yogurt, it also aids in digestion, and we can have it with our meals daily.

I love this drink and it is also known as chaas. To give it a flavor, first we need to add roasted cumin with some salt and black pepper. We can also dry roast the cumin seeds and then add it after grinding it. We can garnish it with coriander leaves as cumin seeds and coriander leaves also aid in digestion. You are free to add your choice of spices or herbs to make it more spicy.


PREPARATION TIME: 10 MINS



INGREDIENTS:

  • 1.5 CUPS YOGURT
  • 1Tsp SPIRULINA POWDER
  • 1 Tsp ROASTED CUMIN SEEDS
  • 1 CUP WATER
  • 2-3 ICE CUBES
  • SALT AND BLACK PEPPER as required
  • CORIANDER LEAVES TO GARNISH
  • CINNAMON/CINNAMON POWDER TO MASK THE STRONG SMELL OF SPIRULINA

METHOD:
  • First add yogurt, water, ice cubes, salt, black pepper, cumin seeds and spirulina powder in a blender jar.
  • Pulse the blender for few seconds to blend everything well and to mkae it frothy
  • Now pour the buttermilk in glass
  • Garnish it with Coriander leaves
