A DROP OF YOU BY KRISHNA CHHETRI

BOOK BLURB:
We become overtly colourless when our hearts aren't together; only when a soul finds its body, they sing and dance together to the colours of life.

Three closely knit people, Karma, Diana & Ghazal meet at the crossroads of life, unaware of the cosmic conspiracy and its comical destiny. Heart is their road, love is their journey and the soul, the final destination. Sailing on the tides of emotions, they encounter deceit, with a tinge of poison and drop of bliss.

Forever love; it is a myth? Or a reality? Is it stifling pain or undying love, that makes love eternal? Come, let us explore!

BOOK REVIEW:

"The irony is we have already thought and planned things for worst, when in actuality nothing of that sort has happened. We die more in our imagination than in reality. Fear of loss is what weakens a lover. Love is never weak, it is always the lover who is."

A Drop Of You is Author Krishna Chhetri's debut novel. It is a tale of true friendship between Karma and Diana and true love between Karma and Ghazal. Karma and Diana are childhood friends and they are inseparable. In their friendship, their is sincere, well-earned and unmistakable affection for one another. One day Karma meets Ghazal and they are immediately attracted to each other and their love deepens. When Ghazal walked into his life, he life changes forever because for Karma there was nothing more genuine and wonderful and truer than having to experience his true love. Ghazal and Karma used to meet, they used to talk for hours and hours every day.. Sharing songs, singing, reading to one another, writing letters, emails, poems, thoughts and talking about almost everything about each other and life overall. Together they were perfect for each other. Their love was refreshingly charming everyday but after some months went by, they started facing their share of obstacles. They begin to wonder if their love is really worth holding onto?

When Karma struggled with his love life, Diana was there with wisdom and support.  I loved how playful they were together and how they were always able to completely be their selves around each other. I absolutely loved how she advises him when Karma's relationship with his love Ghazal wasn't easy. These were her words for him-
"Karma, the thread of love is very fragile;it takes years to build but only a moment or a word to shatter. Don't get bottled up and make a bigger fuss than it is. These little devils have the ability to ruin and cripple something beautiful as love. So don't take them lightly."

This is the book that shows the story of life as it really is and love that changes everything. Through Author Krishna’s work we see that deeply meaningful friendships can be a warm blanket that makes the worst in life seem tolerable. Also I think the author did a wonderful job at describing this realistic story about love and everything that comes with it. He created wonderful characters in Karma and Diana. In this book, all the characters Karma, Diana, Ghazal, Abhy and Sadah play by their own rules, they have their own different definition for love and marriage and for the rules set by society. The character of Sadah was relatable, we do meet such people in our life who try to influence us with their thoughts and they can go to any extent to convince us to follow them.

The narration is fresh and sets apart from the other love stories. The love illustrated is the finest kind and this love has difficult moments too. I really loved how the author managed to describe all the emotions Karma went through, so well. The story was indeed beautifully written and it reached out into the depths of my soul. The emotional impact you might get while reading this book is beyond words. I learned a lot from this book and it’s a book that deserves to be remembered.

RATING: I would like to give it 5/5 stars

RECOMMENDATION: Highly recommended! It's a beautiful, heartwarming, captivating, affecting and sentimental story, so do read it. Hopefully you'll enjoy it just as much as I did!!!!
