MY SOLO TRIP TO CHANDIGARH

Hello everyone,

I love travelling and I finally got to visit this beautiful city Chandigarh, which I so wanted to visit from so long. I visited Chandigarh during winters and it was too cold that time. On my first day to Chandigarh, I dressed up wearing all the warm clothes I could wear :D and took a cab to Sector 22 market which is one of the famous places there. The place was buzzing with people and I really liked the place which had so many cafes and restaurants. I decided to have a cappuccino in The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Cafe. The coffee was warm and perfect to soothe down my body in that icy cold winter. I walked around the market for few minutes and felt really good walking so late night in that safe and busy place. Then I booked a cab and headed back to my hotel where I had sumptuous dinner and I dropped off to slumber. Next morning I got up late as was feeling little lazy in that chilling weather. I took shower, got ready wearing two layers of winter clothing :D I had my fixed winter breakfast (of Paranthas with pickle and chai ) every day in my stay at Chandigarh. So on the day 2 in Chandigarh,  first I wanted to visit the shopping malls of Chandigarh as I heard a lot about them. I booked a cab and headed straight to Elante mall which was nearby the place where I was staying. I really loved the mall. It was so crowded and this shows how people of Chandigarh loved it. It had all my favorite brands and I did some shopping from there. Then I went to my favourite salon in the mall and had a great pampering session, where I got facial and mani-pedi done. I came out rejuvenated and then I was getting hungry, so I thought of eating something in the mall itself. I headed to the food court and had pizza from La Pino'z. It was really yummy. After a tiring and yet exiting day in mall, I left for my hotel. I took rest and next morning I woke up fresh. My plan for the Day 3 included visiting Church so I got up early, took shower and had an early breakfast. I booked a cab and left to Christ The King Cathedral in sector 19 A, which is one of the famous Church there. This was the first time I visited any church. I felt really peaceful and there I offered prayers. I sat there for few minutes. The lady there also helped me by offering prayers from my side for me and my family's well-being. It was really a different experience for me.

Then I booked a cab to Sector1 to see Sukhna Lake, which is the most popular tourist attraction of Chandigarh. Stretching across 3 km, this man made lake was created in the year 1958 by damming the Sukhna Choe Stream flowing from the Shivalik hills. I relished the fresh morning air there and felt so peaceful.  The scenic beauty of the lake with a mesmerizing view, the melodious chirping of the birds in the serene atmosphere completely captured me so much that it made me forget everything and I rejoiced every moment at the lake. A visit to Sukhna Lake really relaxed my mind and gave me immense peace.

Then my next destination was Rock Garden. It is 3 km away from Sukhna Lake so I thought of going there by walk :) This walk made for a perfect morning walk. I reached there and saw so many tourists around, I  purchased the entry ticket and explored the rock garden, there was so much to see. It was beautiful as everything was made with rocks. The artwork was amazing. Then I came out and booked a cab to Sector 17 Market which is famous for best shopping and good food.

I reached Sector 17 Market ( also  known as Sector Satara Market) and explored some shops. I really wanted to buy so many things from this place, something related to Punjab. I liked one suit with Phulkari work and I instantly bought it for me. I bought three wollen shawls too for my mom, my sister and my sister-in-law. Then I went to Sindhi Sweets and bought Amritsari Pinnia. After that, I ate my favorite street food Golgappas. Then I had this delicious ice-cream from famous Softy Corner. After checking some other stores, I ate Sweet Potato Chat. I loved being there in that market.

Afterwards I went back to my hotel, kept the stuff I purchased. Had my lunch and rested for a while. In evening I again headed to Elante Mall. I had burger and then again started my shopping! I bought lot of winter clothing. Then I wanted to try some  more brands so I went to VR Punjab mall which is in Mohali. I did some shopping there and I got little  late and had dinner in Food court of the mall. I ordered a North Indian Thali and everything in the thali was delicious. I came back to my hotel and dropped off to slumber.

Next morning, after having done my breakfast I again went to Elante Mall as I really loved being there.

I did some more shopping including my luggage bag, some winter outfits and accessories. Then had my favourite banofee pie from Nik Bakers. My last day in Chandigarh ended on this delicious note. This was my short and sweet stay in Chandigarh which made me shop, eat and explore the beauty of this place to the fullest. I loved this city as I found it really safe even if you're moving out night alone, I found the people really warm and polite, I found the roads really neat. Overall this place gave me some beautiful memories to cherish forever! I am soon going to visit this place again!
