BOOK REVIEW:
Kaira Kapoor a young, ambitious and feisty girl runs her own CafĂ© library and was supposed to meet Aveer Mehra to work on a joint deal. But Kaira has past demons haunting her because of Drew who is her bestfriend and now sister-in-law Tasha’s brother; her past with Drew had been bothering her though it has been four years since those nasty experiences. Kaira is on cloud nine with the arrival of her niece Arshi but that also means frequent encounters with Drew. With a new relationship with Aveer waiting to bring back her lost joy, will Kaira be able to finally move on and accept a new relationship forms the rest of the story.
Though the title and blurb hint at a love triangle story of Kaira involving Drew and Aveer, the story is as much about Kaira and Tasha’s friendship from school days, their respective love stories and about their families. The story also touches Kaira’s entrepreneurial journey from the time she has the idea of setting up her own CafĂ© library to turning it into a reality and running it successfully. The cover is very pretty and attractive; the language simple and narration easy to follow. At less than 200 pages, this one makes for a quick read for a lazy afternoon.
Though overall the story is not new, it is the characters and their conversations that keep the reader engaged till the end. Kaira is the most lovable character followed by Aveer, as both the protagonists are sure to be liked by the reader; even their families have a certain charm and warmth. Aveer should have got more footage as his character gets prominence towards the end only. Also, the conflict which was there at the start was not continued into the later parts making the story predictable towards the end.
Overall, Love Unexpected makes for a sweet feel good story with aspects of love, friendship, families, heartbreak, entrepreneurship.
