MY REVIEW:
'You Raise Me Up' is a story about Aalok Sharma, a chartered accountant and Priyanka Mehra, a lawyer. The first part of this book tells a story about how these two people meet each other on a flight and fall for each other. Their likes and nature are completely different but they feel attracted towards each other. They spend time together and enjoys each other's company. Aalok finds it difficult to commit himself fully to this relationship because of his past. In the second part, we get to know about his past, his wife Tanvi whom he loved a lot but due to some problems they were not together. In third part of the book, Aalok finds it difficult to understand whether he wants to move on in his life with Priyanka or give a second shot to his marriage with Tanvi. To know whom Aalok chooses, you need to read the book yourself.
WHAT I LIKED:
What I liked in this story was Aalok and his sister Isha's relationship. The way she supports her brother in his crucial phases of life. Isha is always there for him and understands his twin brother better. Me and my brother share the same bond just like Aalok and Isha.
The way Aalok loves Tanvi and also takes care of all her family members and how he supports Tanvi in pursuing her dream job , that was impressive!
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
Aalok could not take out time from his busy work schedule which leads to lots of problems. He should have had taken out some time from his work to spend with his wife because giving time is most important in every relationship to work.
WRITING STYLE:
I loved the writing style of author and the language is simple and easy to understand which makes it a nice read. It was a good read and I enjoyed reading this romantic story about love. The story was divided into three parts which made it easy for readers to understand the characters and incidents in the story well without any confusion.
RATING:
4/5
